Welcome To Cub Scout Pack 295

Is your elementary school-aged child looking for a fun new extracurricular activity? Looking for a new place to make friends in a creative, active and educational setting?

We invite you to join our family-friendly Pack!

Boys and Girls from Kindergarten to 5th grade can join Cub Scouts now! The grade-level dens and entire Pack enjoy nature walks, camping, making crafts, going on outings, field games, pool parties, STEM, doing community service projects, learning new skills and making lasting memories together!

The worldwide Cub Scout program emphasizes good citizenship, building leadership, care for the environment, and doing your best. Our energetic, dedicated adult volunteer leaders emphasize the principles of Scouting and provide a variety of exciting program activities, including family camping nearby each Fall and Spring, the popular Pine Wood Derby in January, Blue and Gold Banquet (to celebrate the birthday of Scouting) in February, Field Day (with sports, carnival games, water bottle rockets, or regatta races) each April and Graduation in June. We also typically have Fall and Winter holiday parties and offer a casual Hike Club for those looking for extra steps in a nearby park.

Our Pack’s History

Woodbridge Cub Scout Pack 295 is chartered/sponsored by: Old Bridge United Methodist Church, 3966 Old Bridge Road, Woodbridge VA (www.obumc.org) – we hold most of our meetings there. Pack 295 was first chartered in February 1995, hence the lineage of the Pack number 2 (FEB) + 95 (1995) and we were proud to celebrate our 25th anniversary in 2020!

Our Pack is currently comprised of children from several area elementary schools (Old Bridge, Westridge, Antietam, Springwoods, Rosa Parks) as well as friends from other neighboring towns and homeschooled youth. Each grade-level den may average 8 Scouts and the entire Pack is usually 40-60 Scouts.

Our Activities

We have spring and fall family camping events. We conduct a Pine Wood Derby in January, Blue and Gold Banquet in February, and rotate between boat or soap box derby type car or rocket races in April. May is our time to have each Scout cross over to the next level with campfire, great times and s’mores.

This Pack sends many scouts to Day Camp, Camp Snyder (Haymarket VA) and Goshen Scout Reservation (Southwest Virginia). The Pack Leadership, Men and Women Groups of the Church and many other super contributors support the thought that “No scout will ever miss camp due to financial hardship”.

Please feel free to Contact Us to discuss registration or stop by the Church and ask about our program. You and your child are welcome to attend any den or pack meeting to participate in the evening’s activities and see what we’re about!
